Review of Gold Bar, Washington

Gold Bar is NOT a great place to live
Star Rating - 9/1/2010
Well I have read the two comments about Gold Bar on here and all I have to say is that I lived there for six long horrible years and I couldn't wait to get out of there! It takes longer than 15 minutes to get to Monroe! The person on here is incorrect. It is NOT beautiful. Just okay and needs a bunch of upgrading. The market there is just okay for groceries. Overpriced because they know that you must drive to Monroe to go to another market they do not own! They rip off the very community that keeps them in business. They own another market in Sultan! I am not surprised about what is happening with the politics there as there were always problems. This is a clicky town and if you are not in the loop you can forget about friendly. It takes over an hour to get to Seattle and that Hwy 2!! What a mess! I wouldn't live there again if you GAVE me a house. Unsophisticated, rednecks, uncultured and just plain boring. A drive through town and even that is boring.

I grew up in Oregon worked in Portland but drove from Hillsboro sometimes over an hour commute 2000 sq foot home small yard surrounded by 8 neighbors . Gold bar is AMAZING views rivers the weather is magical. For the same price as suburbs 40 min commute 5 acres with over 4000 sq ft literally pulled out salmon with bare hands. Wild life is rich we’ve seen bald eagles tons of deer. I haven’t spotted any clicks other than people trying to live good lives vs the druggies. All food prices are high everywhere but the family grocer doesn’t force masks this place is a God send I love this place it is a hidden treasure
